My first Fender and my first Stratocaster. I hated the original tortoiseshell pickguard, so I attempted to paint it which I failed at miserably. So I used a Proline pickguard that I bought from GC and had to route some holes in the body to get the pickguard to line up right. I also had to route a hole in the pickguard for the switch.

Thanks for your comments. The pickups are nice...none of that annoying hum. Seems like they would be good for jazz.

I really like that color. I've been looking for something in a blue and that look is sweet. You were right to go with a white pick guard. It just looks better with the maple neck. The gold hardware looks awesome in that combination too.

How are those noiseless pickups?
